Each year, at the beginning of the spring semester, the Boston Area Chapter holds its Annual Student Career Workshop to help students get ready to apply for and secure positions in the life sciences industry. Whether you are seeking an internship, co-op, or full time position, this is an event you can’t afford to miss! Come learn from industry pros, give your confidence a boost, and get the tools you need all by attending this great event. This year’s event gave students access to over 150 summer internships available at local life science companies and also served to bolster the partnership between ISPE and the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center
This year’s event was held at Northeastern’s Raytheon Amphitheater on Saturday, January 27, 2018. Hiring managers from local firms, career coaches, and industry professionals shared their insights about the job search process, building your network, and taking advantage of the networking opportunities offered by ISPE as students transition to industry young professionals.
At this year’s event, two professional Women in Pharma shared their highly personal career path stories. This year’s event featured eight “returning veterans” from this event who successfully made the transition from their universities to the life sciences industry with a big assist from this workshop. Students describe this workshop as “life changing” and “spectacular”. Here are a few quotes:
“Over 150 summer internships available to ISPE student members – what else is there to say but WOW!”
“The workshop was much better than I expected! I’m going to tell everyone I know about it.”
“It was loaded with practical tips and real-world advice from people actually working in the field. I now have more confidence in my abilities and the positive mindset I need to go after the jobs I really want. This event was by far the best career workshop I’ve ever attended.”
