Chapter Awards

To recognize the outstanding contributions of individual volunteers, the Boston Area Chapter has created the following awards which will be presented at the Annual Product Show in October each year. Members who would like to nominate individual volunteer(s) or Student Chapter(s) for an award should send an email to the Chapter office at office@ISPEBoston.org briefly describing why they believe the individual (or Student Chapter) should be considered for an award. Final award decisions are made by the Chapter\'s Board of Directors.

Hank Moes Award

Presented to a Boston Area Chapter member in recognition of a comprehensive body of work and specific accomplishments that are widely recognized as truly extraordinary and of positive and lasting impact on ISPE, the Boston Area Chapter and the life sciences/biopharmaceutical industry. The recipient must have been a Boston Area Chapter member for a minimum of five years; and may be an active or retired emeritus member. The award may also be presented posthumously. (Note: Due to the unique criteria for this award, it may not be presented every year.)

Volunteer of the Year Award

Presented to one or more Boston Area Chapter members who have demonstrated a high level of dedication to the Chapter's goals and who, through their dedicated effort and involvement over the past year, have enabled the Chapter to accomplish those goals. The selected member's contributions to the Chapter shall be characterized by the following attributes:

  • broad‐based ‐ applying to more than one area of the Chapter's activities
  • effective ‐ successfully helping the Chapter achieve its annual goals
  • innovative ‐ finding new ways for the Chapter to bring value to members

Outstanding Achievement Award

Presented to a Chapter member, group of members or committee (ad hoc or permanent) that has accomplished a specific task or completed a discrete project during the past year that has significantly contributed to the Chapter's success. The winning contribution to the Chapter shall be characterized by the following attributes:

  • focused ‐ relating to a specific, short‐term task or project
  • strategic ‐ contributing to the Chapter's long‐term success
  • significant ‐ having a major impact on the Chapter & its members

Members of the winning Student Chapter will have participated in Boston Area Chapter student‐related activities to the greatest extent possible. The winning Student Chapter will also demonstrate the following attributes:

  • strong leadership ‐ effective student officers, faculty & industry advisors
  • sound management ‐ attention to administrative details
  • active recruitment ‐ successful efforts to attract & retain student members
  • scheduled activities ‐ variety of planned activities, including those leveraging Boston Area Chapter resources
  • sustainability ‐ planning to ensure survival from year to year
