In This IssueChapter President Sylvia Beaulieu passes the baton with a special thank you to Chapter Members and volunteers for another extraordinary year. Summer vacation? Not for the Chapter, with several exciting events planned for the summer months including the Golf Outing on August 16th and a Lowell Spinner's game on the 22nd... Under the able leadership of Doyle Johnson, qualified Chapter Members join forces to obtain their ISPE CPIP (Certified Pharmaceutical Industry Professional) credentials. They came, they saw, they learned. There's no better way to describe the level of interest and enthusiasm among the members and guests who flocked to Acceleron Pharma in May. A diverse panel of nine industry leaders combined with a novel format provided valuable information for those looking to grow professionally or interested in exploring a range of career options. The Hard Rock Café in downtown Boston created the backdrop for this year's Summer Social where an evening of food, drink, networking and a live performance by ImprovBoston honored Chapter volunteers. Over a hundred Members traveled to Bedford to learn how Millipore achieved an impressive reduction in the use of electricity, natural gas and water, as well as cutting their emissions of greenhouse gasses, all in a demanding manufacturing environment.
