Joel Goldenberg Memorial Scholarship Program

The ISPE Boston Area Chapter is funding a scholarship program for the purpose of giving back to its community of professionals and furthering the knowledge base and skill sets of its Members and their families. This Scholarship Fund is being administered in honor of Boston Area Chapter Past President Joel Goldenberg, whose wish was to support the educational pursuits of ISPE Members and their families looking to further their education and career development.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The ISPE Boston Area Chapter is proud to offer a scholarship program to Chapter Members and their families who are continuing their formal education in a life sciences field. For the purposes of the scholarship program, life sciences is defined as any branch of science or engineering that deals with or can be applied to living organisms and life processes.

The scholarship fund is supported through proceeds from numerous Chapter fundraising activities and is designed to defray tuition expenses of legal US residents. Recipients will receive an award of up to $2,000 (payable to their college or university) or an amount equal to the cost of a specific course (including course-related fees and books), whichever is less, minus available employer tuition reimbursement for the course.

Currently, the Chapter expects to award up to 5-10 scholarships per year, subject to final approval by the Boston Area Chapter Board of Directors.

ELIGIBILITY

Members in good standing of the Boston Area Chapter and their non-member children as described in #1 below are eligible to apply. Eligible applicants must be enrolled in an accredited college or university associates, bachelors or masters program and/or registered in a course at an accredited college or university.
