Ben Bradford, Head of External Affairs, Mass Bio Ben joined the MassBio team in 2017. As Vice President of Economic Development and Workforce, he oversees MassBio’s relationship with municipalities, international organizations, and the local real estate and development community. He also works with member and non-member companies to support their decision-making on relocation or expansions. Through relationships with foreign economic development agencies, Ben works to connect foreign companies to the US market. Additionally, he serves as a resource for MassBio member companies as they look to grow their operations in Massachusetts from a personnel standpoint. Prior to MassBio, Ben worked as Director of Business Development and Regional Strategy at the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center where he was responsible for recruiting new companies to do business in Massachusetts and developing relationships with municipalities across the Commonwealth with the goal of expanding the industry state-wide. Ben has a B.A. in Political Science from Union College (NY). He lives in North Reading with his wife and two kids.
Lily Fitzgerald, Senior Manager, Advanced Technology Programs, Massachusetts Technology Collaborative Lily Fitzgerald is the Senior Manager, Advanced Technology Programs at the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative, where she leads cluster development for bioindustrial manufacturing and additive manufacturing and helps manage the Massachusetts Manufacturing Innovation Initiative (M2I2) grant program. Prior to joining MassTech, Lily spent 7 years at Ginkgo Bioworks, where she worked as an early engineer in Ginkgo’s laboratories and later founded the Public Policy team, advocating for policies that grow the bioeconomy. She has an M.S. in Technology Policy from MIT and a B.S. in Environmental Science from UMass Amherst.
Devin Gleeson, PMP, Vice President of Life Science & Technology, Timberline Construction Taking advantage of Timberline’s already robust life science and technology portfolio, Devin is responsible for bringing his industry knowledge, best practices, processes and standards to continue providing their clients with exceptional service while driving strategic growth with their leadership team. Devin brings more than 20 years of project management, construction and engineering experience from top life science and technology companies. His career project experience is varied throughout the pharmaceutical, bio-pharmaceutical and semi-conductor industries and ranges from leading a $250 million GMP manufacturing facility expansion to the construction of a $1 billion semiconductor manufacturing facility. Devin joined Timberline most recently from DPS Global Group where he was a Director of Project Management, responsible for over $75 million in projects for Ipsen Biopharma and Organogenesis. Prior to DPS he has worked with and consulted for several companies such as Entegris, Covidian, MannKind, Pfizer, ConocoPhillips, British Petroleum and Intel.
Jon Weaver, President & CEO, Massachusetts Biomedical Initiatives (MBI) Jon is the President & CEO of Massachusetts Biomedical Initiatives (MBI). MBI is the longest-running life science business incubator in the Commonwealth and focuses on supporting startups from Concept to Clinical Trials. MBI also serves as the hub of the biotech ecosystem in Central MA and a leader in economic & workforce development policy. Jon received his Bachelors and MBA from Assumption University. He previously served as Vice President, Real Estate at MassDevelopment and Senior Project Manager at the Worcester Business Development Corporation. Prior to assuming the role of President & CEO, Jon served as the Chief Operating Officer of MBI for four years. Jon is a current Board Member of Assumption University, the Worcester Regional Research Bureau, the Venture Forum, UMass Chan Clinical Translational Sciences Community Advisory Board, Berkshire Bank Central MA Advisory Board, Grafton Community Advisory Group, and Alumni Advisor to the Worcester Student Government Association.
Caren Jenkins, Business Development Coordinator, CRB (Moderator) Caren is a Relationship Builder, Business Development, and Marketing professional in the Pharma/Biotech industry with 10+ years of experience in the A/E/C and cleanroom industries. She has a strong background in project management and client development. She is a founding member, past Co-Chair of Women in Pharma, and a Board of Directors Member for ISPE Boston Chapter. In 2017 Caren was awarded ISPE Boston’s prestigious Janice Tice Volunteer of the year Award for her contributions to the Boston chapter and in 2019 and 2022 ISPE Boston Women in Pharma was recognized as the committee of the year. Caren is passionate about mentoring, helping to empower and connect young professionals and women in the life science and pharma industry.
