Precision Design for Process Industries

POSITION SUMMARY

The Structural Engineer is responsible for performing structural assessments, calculations, and design work to ensure the safety and stability of structural elements in a variety of projects. This role involves field inspections, load analysis, code compliance checks, and collaboration with other engineering disciplines to develop accurate and reliable structural solutions.

Deliverables:

Accurate field inspections and documentation of existing conditions.
Sizing and arrangement of structural members based on required calculations.
Evaluation of existing structural capacities for new load additions.
Review and integration of architectural, mechanical, process, and electrical systems in relation to structural design.
Code analysis for compliance with model codes and industry standards.
Development of detailed designs for structural elements such as building structures, platforms, equipment supports, and pipe bridges.
Written specifications for structural and architectural components.
Proficiency in structural analysis software (SAP2000, STAAD) and CAD tools (AutoCAD, Revit).

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conducting field inspections to assess existing structural conditions.
Performing structural calculations for member sizing and load analysis.
Reviewing interdisciplinary designs for coordination with structural systems.
Performing code analysis to ensure compliance with applicable building codes (IBC, ACI318, AISC).
Designing a variety of structural elements and developing detailed plans.
Writing and editing specifications for structural and architectural components.
Collaborating with team members and other engineering disciplines to deliver comprehensive design solutions.
Using structural analysis software and CAD tools to create and modify designs.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
3+ years of experience in structural engineering.
FE Certification is a plus.
Working knowledge of structural analysis software (SAP2000, STAAD) is a plus.
Proficiency in current AutoCAD and Revit software.
