Triple Play: ISPE/PDA Conference Travels to Portsmouth NH and Milford MA

 

The local Chapters of ISPE and PDA joined forces on May 17th for a dinner program at the Hilton in Woburn. About 150 attendees turned out to wine, dine, network and learn about “Validation: The Bridge between Engineering & Quality Assurance” from invited speakers Sylvan Poeckh of Masy BioServices and Paul Stanovich of Process Design Solutions.

The following week, the Chapter’s Geographic Outreach (GO) Committee re-aired the presentations at the Redhook Brewery in Portsmouth, NH and Waters Corporation in Milford, MA – great examples of the ongoing effort to bring ISPE education and networking to Chapter members who live or work well beyond the Boston area.

All three gatherings were active with lively networking and discussions before and after the presentations.  Special attractions at Waters in Milford included an impressive tour of extreme manufacturing – from micron milling to ultra-high pressure 18K PSI columns – and an “endless shrimp bowl” reminiscent of the Product Show. Not to be outdone, the Redhook Brewery in Portsmouth again proved to be an attraction for ISPE members who work or live in the area, including a reliable contingent from Lonza.
